This class and the case studies shown will address misconceptions about dry stack stone retaining wall construction, best practices, guidelines, laboratory testing standards, and many key natural stone facts as well as sustainability.

Ray has worked in the landscape industry for 53 years, 47 of them in business setting standards for engineered natural stone walls in Michigan. He introduced the ARC Rockery standards to the Michigan landscape industry. He has lectured at MSU landscape conferences and been invited to present lunch-and-learns to large LA, architecture, and engineering offices in Michigan. His company has won many Detroit Home Awards and Industry awards, including one for 50 years in the industry from MNLA and one from the Michigan Chapter of the ASLA for contributions to the industry including stones, techniques, and best practices.

He will continue to raise the bar on stone retaining wall standards and educate both industry members and townships, local governments, and municipalities.
