Taking the Irritation Out of Irrigation

A properly functioning, efficient irrigation system involves much more than simply making sure water is being applied to the plants.  This session will cover some of the most common mistakes made in irrigation design, installation, and maintenance.

Marcus Duck received his BS degree in Horticulture from Auburn University in 1997, and his MS degree in Horticulture from Michigan State University in 2002.  His industry experience has been in retail garden center management, integrated pest management at Walt Disney World, and all aspects of landscape maintenance and installation of high-end residential and commercial properties at Landscape Services, Inc. in Birmingham, AL.  Since 2002, Marcus has been the Coordinator and Instructor for Michigan State University’s 2-year Horticulture programs in East Lansing.  He is responsible for advising students on course selections, placing students on their required internships, and helping students start their careers after they graduate.  He is the advisor of MSU’s Student Horticulture Association, and is one of the coaches for the MSU NALP National Collegiate Landscape Competition Team.
