HACCP, SANC and the Future of Nursery Certification

Date/Time:
Jan 22 2018 - 11:00am

Systematic approaches in the production and distribution of nursery stock and their influence on pest and pathogens are becoming more important for both the industry and regulatory agencies.

HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points. SANC is a Systems Approach to Nursery Certification.  Each program focuses on identifying critical control points, controlling risks in production systems and implementing best management practices to decrease the likelihood of shipping pests or diseases. We will examine these approaches and outline how they relate to the future of nursery crop certification.
