MSU Horticulture Demonstration Gardens

Daedre completed her Master’s Degree in Horticulture at Michigan State University, where she researched the use of light-emitting diodes as an energy-efficient alternative to incandescent light bulbs for greenhouse lighting.  With her love of teaching and outreach, Daedre has taught undergraduate horticulture and biology courses as well as a variety of gardening how-to workshops for the general public.  For the last three years, she has been the Annual Trial Manager at the MSU Horticulture Demonstration Gardens where she is responsible for growing and evaluating new annual and vegetable varieties.  In her personal life, she greatly enjoys growing heirloom vegetables, cooking with homegrown produce, and canning homemade jams and pickles.
